  • Check weather forecasts first before going afloat and carry a radio or
mobile phone, always wear your life jacket.

  • All anglers should be aware of the inherent dangers of fishing not only
to themselves but also to others.

  • Study the water you are fishing; know the deeps, the fast runs, underwater
    and overhead obstructions.

  • Never wade if you do not know the above.

  • If wading is a must then and only then with a friend near by.

  • Carry proper equipment to land, unhook and return fish safely.

  • Keep rods and lines away from overhead power cables and check behind
    you before casting.

Salmon & Sea Trout : The law is specific that all immature salmon and sea trout
(parr and smolts) must be returned to the water.

This also applies to fish that have spawned (kelts). Heavily coloured fish, both cock
and hen should also be
returned to the water as quickly as possible.
The rule is "if in doubt - return immediately", although we believe 'catch and release'
is the best policy in order to preserve stocks.

Wild Brown Trout : The accepted method of capture is by fly fishing and a
policy restraint is
requested regarding the number of fish killed.

Never kill more than can be used and return others safely.
