Fishing Conduct

Angling as a sport and recreation is a fragile and personal experience, which can so
easily be
disrupted by external interference. However water space is in great
demand both from anglers and
other activities and therefore its enjoyment has to be
shared.
The following points should be observed by every angler.

  •   Ensure you have permission to fish and that you have purchased a permit if
                      required to do so

  •   Observe the bounds of any beat to which you have been assigned and abide
by the conditions of the local permits.

  •   Show consideration for other anglers and water users, leave plenty of room
                      and enjoy your time without
    being obtrusive to others.

  •   Never crowd or obstruct an angler near to you on the bank or in a boat.

  •   Never leave rods unattended.

  •   Make sure you can distinguish between takeable and non takeable fish.

  •   Follow the Country code particularly in relation to control of dogs, the
risk of fires and fastening gates.

  •   Never introduce fish from one water to another.

  •   Never leave litter or tackle behind, particularly line and hooks.

Do not park vehicles so that they obstruct gateways or cause a hazard.
Please respect the Scottish countryside and its wildlife - they are unique.

The only evidence of your stay at the waters edge should be your footprints.
