Fish Diseases

A guide to protecting fish stocks.

All concerns and advice about introduction of fish to Scottish inland waters, please contact David Dunkley at Scottish Executive Environment and rural Affairs Department (SEERAD).

Our Scottish waters are free of any serious fish disease that other countries suffer and that state is very important to our native fish as well as you and me.There are restrictions on importing fish stock from outside the UK and we can all can play a role in this ruling.

The fish farmer - managers can help avoid introducing infected stock by strickly following the rules set down.
The angler - can take simple precautions if moving between fisheries.
